Mariam Odda, a fine month old little girl held in a midwifes arms, is a patient at the Women`s Hospital in Karbala City, May 18, 2003. She suffers from gastro intestinal (GI) complications and, like a lot of other women and children in Karbala City, she will not get the medication and surgery needed to correct her problems. U.S. Army and Navy personnel are in the process of getting new equipment for the Operating Room and also providing more medical supplies in hopes that women and children will receive better healthcare.
