AMEDD in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm
During 1992, The Journal of the U.S. Army Medical Department, edited and published by the 7th Medical Command, U.S. Army, Europe, produced four special issues covering medical activities during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and the aftermath. The articles and interviews contained in those four issues provide a unique perspective on the operations of the Army Medical Department during the Gulf War. Moreover, the issues also contained extensive coverage of the medical operations of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and some of our coalition partners. After 1992, The Journal carried occasion articles on medical experiences in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and these have also been included in this collection.
The collection is organized in order by date of the issue`s appearance in print. The following Table of Contents lists all of the articles which have been put into Portable Document File (PDF) format that can be read using Adobe Acrobat Reader software. If yo do not have Acrobat Reader, you can download if free of charge by going to Adobe Corporation`s website at www.adobe.com and downloading Acrobat Reader.
In the future, an order of battle for AMEDD units and interviews with participants will be posted on this section of this site.
