Brigadier General Jack M. Davis began his career in Armor and subsequently served as a Special Forces A-Team leader. He began service in the U.S. Army Medical Department (AMEDD) in 1989. His first AMEDD assignment was at Brooke Army Medical Center in the Medical and Surgical section, with a follow-on assignment to the Surgical and Trauma Intensive Care Unit.

In 1994, he served as the Chief Nurse, Officer-in-Charge of the U.S. Army Health Clinic at Yuma Proving Grounds in Yuma, Arizona. In 1999, after attending the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland, BG Davis returned to Brooke Army Medical Center to serve as a primary care provider in the Family Medicine Clinic. He was later tasked with establishing a new primary care clinic at Camp Bullis, Texas, and served as the activity’s first Officer in Charge.

In 2003, BG Davis deployed to Iraq as the Brigade Surgeon of the 17th Field Artillery Brigade in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After redeployment, he transferred to Korea and was assigned as the Officer-inCharge of Wood Army Medical Clinic, Daegu, Korea. After Korea, BG Davis was assigned to the U.S. Army Medical Command at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where he served as Chief of Nursing Operations in the Clinical Services Division. In 2010, he was assigned to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas, as the Assistant Deputy Commander for Nursing. In 2011, he was selected to serve as the Chief Nurse and Chief of Clinical Operations, 1st Medical Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas, where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

After redeployment, BG Davis resumed his role as the 1st Medical Brigade Chief Nurse and Chief of Clinical Operations until his selection as Commander, 32d Medical Brigade, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

In August 2016, BG Davis became the fourth Commandant of the Medical Education and Training Campus, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

BG Davis’ education includes two bachelor's degrees from Arizona State University and a Master of Nursing Science degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His military education includes the AMEDD Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms Staff and Service School, Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College.

BG Davis’ awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), National Defense Service Medal (with Bronze Service Star), Iraq Campaign Medal (with 3 Bronze Service Stars), Global War on Terror Service Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (with Numeral 2), NATO Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Special Forces Tab.
