Command Sergeant Majors of Health Services Command (HSC)/MEDCOM

CSM O'Boyle served from April 1975 to January 1979 as the fourth Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Health Services Command.

During his 30 years of military service, his assignments included tours in a Korean Advisory Group,  the Tropical Research Medicine Laboratory in Puerto Rico and the 22nd Surgical Hospital in Vietnam.  He also served in Germany.

His CONUS assignments include serving as the Sergeant Major 5th U.S. Army Surgeon's office and then as Command Sergeant Major Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston. He also served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 2nd Medical Battalion, 2d Infantry Division.

Command Sergeant Major O'Boyle was selected as the fourth individual to serve as the Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Health Services Command.

Command Sergeant Major O'Boyle's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, United Nations Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
