Command Sergeant Majors of Health Services Command (HSC)/MEDCOM

CSM Stephens served from October 1974 to March 1975 as the third Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Health Services Command.

During his 26 years of service, his assignments included tours in Alaska, Germany, Korea and Vietnam. His CONUS assignments include Fort Bliss, Texas, Fort Lewis, Washington, Fort Lawton, Washington, Camp Roberts, California, Presidio of San Francisco, California, Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Ord, California and Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Command Sergeant Major Stevens served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 43rd Medical Group, 62nd Medical Group, 225th Station Hospital, Darnall Army Hospital, U.S. Army Garrison, Presidio of San Francisco and the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity, Fort Ord, California. Command Sergeant Major Stephens also served as the Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army's Health Services Command and is the third individual to serve in this position.

Command Sergeant Major Stephens awards and decorations include Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, , Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Medical Badge.
