AMEDD Medal of Honor Awardees

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in actionat the risk of his life above and beyond the call of dutythe Medal of Honor was awarded to GABRIEL GRANT

Gabriel Grant 

United States Army Surgeon, U.S. Volunteers, at Fair Oaks, Virginia, 1 June 1862. Removed severely wounded officers and soldiers from the field while under a heavy fire from the enemy, exposing himself beyond the call of duty, thus furnishing an example of most distinguished gallantry.
