Citation:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 9419 and under the provisions of AR 600-45 and circular 6, Third U.S. Army, the Bronze Star is awarded to Private First Class Peter Englert, Medical Department, United States Army. On 17 August 1944 when aid man for a Tank Destroyer Company supporting an Infantry Regiment, Private First Class Englert received shrapnel wounds during a heavy concentration of artillery, small arms and machine gun fire. With utter disregard for his own safety and notwithstanding this wound, Private First Class Englert went forward and administered first aid to his troops and attached Infantry troops. Such devotion to duty upholds the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.

By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (sec. II, WD Bul. 3, 1944), a Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States during the period indicated is awarded to Private First Class Paul Etheridge, Medical Department, Army of the United States, a member of the Medical Detachment, 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division, on 17 March 1945, distinguished himself by heroic action in Germany. When the platoon to which he was attached as medical aid man was subjected to heavy enemy fire, Private First Class Etheridge was among the first to be wounded. Although in great pain and unable to walk, he did not seek shelter but crawled to two wounded comrades to administer first aid while the enemy barrage continued. The high sense of duty and heroic action demonstrated by Private First Class Etheridge reflects credit upon himself and the armed forces.

By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (sec. II, WD Bul. 3, 1944), a Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States during the period indicated is awarded to Technician Fourth Grade Carroll C. Eubank, Medical Department, Army of the United States, a member of the Medical Detachment, 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division, on 16 December 1944, distinguished himself by heroic action in Germany. During the winter offensive in the Ardennes; when the positions were surrounded, Tec. 4th Gr. Eubank constantly exposed himself to enemy fire moving from one wounded to another rendering first aid. When the troops were ordered to withdraw, he continued administering first aid and remained with the wounded to prevent excessive loss of blood and to treat men suffering from extreme shock. The courage, ability and inexhaustible devotion to duty merits the highest praise.
